
| Dr. Sedwick has been in practice in the Orlando area for over 25 years. Her family has lived in the area since the early l960s. Her training in medicine started at Duke Medical School and from there she did an internship in Medicine at University of Texas, San Antonio, and residency in Ophthalmology at University of Florida. She and her husband then went to Washington University for fellowship training and returned to this area for practice in the l980s. She is married to Dr. Jerry Shuster, a glaucoma specialist, and they have two children who are currently in college in North Carolina, at Duke and Wake Forest University. Dr. Sedwick has been active in her field and in her professional organization, the North American Neuro-ophthalmology Society (NANOS), having chaired the Publications Committee for nearly a decade and then serving on the NANOS board as well as the editorial board of the Journal of Neuro-ophthalmology. She has been the Neuro-ophthalmology editor for the American Ophthalmology Association's Focal Points series for continuing medical education as well as the Neuro-opthalmology Section editor for the BCSC Review Course from the AAO. She is also a member of American Medical Association. She has been an associate professor at the University of South Florida and served on the Duke Medical Alumni Council. She is the author or co-author of a number of scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals as well as several chapters in textbooks. Her hobbies are bicycling, creative writing and kayaking. |
